    I agree with you that removing the muffler and running just straight pipe is a bad idea. It's droney, noisey and not pleasent - especially bad for the rear passengers. When I purchased my D2a the previous owner had removed it and left just pipe there.

    Instead of having the restrictive factory muffler, have it removed and replaced with a straight through performance muffler in 2 1/2" size. This removes the drone and lowers the noise level to a much more tollerable level while still giving you most of the performance benefits of running a straight pipe.
    While your there I'd also replace the two smaller resinators with straight through hot dogs that would flow better.

    Hi Onebob...sorry for the delay in replying. My local exhaust bloke did a cut and replace job cost me $45.
