Got the 3/4 alloy and they have got the new high legs plus you can do some mods to fit the steel high legs as well it does fit well as i said i am happy with it..Quote:

I've just fitted a steel Tigerz11 full length rack to my D2a (2004) and the Tigerz11 awning as well. I have to say for what I paid - $328 for the rack and $169 from memory for the awning, I am more than happy with the quality of them. The steel rack is bloody heavy though and I had a mate help me put it up, but we couldn't get lift it so in the end, with the aid of a forklift, we go the rack onto the roof. Mind you, my D2 has been lifted 2" and I've got new 32" muddies on as well. If you can't get access to a forklift, you'll need at least 3, if not 4 blokes to lift this thing onto the roof.
I originally bought the aluminium from their website, but they didn't have the extra tall legs in stock. As per other earlier posts, those legs are due to arrive in about 6 weeks, I was told by Paul. As I'm heading to VIC high country in about 10 days time, I couldn't wait for the aluminium legs to arrive so ended up changing over to the steel rack because they had the legs for the steel rack.
Paul from Tigerz11 was great to deal with, replied to emails and even called me on a Sunday to discuss changing to the steel rack. He shipped the rack and awning plus a few other bits and pieces up to me in Sydney within a few days. Everything arrived nicely packaged and undamaged. The quality of the rack is fantastic, far exceeded my expectation considering what I paid. I had a look a quite a few other racks before I purchased the Tigerz11 and I have to say the quality is the same as other well known brands which cost 3 times as much.
I didn't remove my original roof bars, didn't really need to. The extra height legs on the rack clears the roof bars if you install the whole rack further back. If you push the rack forward too much, they will rub and the bracket of the roof rack legs will sit on the roof bars. Just pull the whole rack further back and you'll be OK. I don't have photos right now but will take some tomorrow and post up.....if I can figure out how to post pictures. Never posted pics on this site before so fingers crossed I can figure out how to.
Overall, I have to rate this rack great value for money and very good quality. I had to climb up and into the rack on the weekend when I installed my awning to the rack and I was able to walk all over without any problems. I weight 93kg so not exactly a lightweight. :p
My only complaint is that the nuts and bolts that came with it didn't match the instructions and they are not all stainless steel bolts. They come with 6 stainless steel main bolts which hold the gutter clamping plate to the outside of the gutter, but all other nuts and bolts are black and not stainless so due to the rain we've had, the nuts are starting to rust already, but other than the bolts, got nothing else to compain about.
It'll be put to good test though when I head off to VIC high country so after I get back, I'll let you guys know exactly how strong the rack is and how it stood up to the test of 9 days in the mountains.

So the D2 rails fit through a 1.3/8"-1.1/2" hole in the roof. Whats the fixing on the underside? I'm having the lining done soon and would pull the rails while it's out.
Grippy rubber should be able to supply very similar if not the same. They are locally a similar supplier to steele's.

Rear roof rails have a stud on the rear, and just a spigot on the front end that goes into a receptacle on the front rail.
So the hole in the roof is only the size of the stud then. Which I'm hoping isn't 1.1/2". Else it's the most over-engineered part if a D2.
