When I fitted the rear extended roof rails to the D2 I had to drill out a 34mm hole from memory for the base of each rail to sit on.Quote:

Which then allows you to take a deep breathe and cut a hole in the roof.

So they all have the larger holes and plates, or just the extended rail rearmost holes?

I have just received the 3/4 steel roof rack and impressed with quality
Am in process of installing brackets an seem the height (hi mount brackets supplied) no problem but the width of vehicle seems will only allow for 2 holes to be used on each bracket instead of 4.
Although the brackets are very heavy duty.
Will post pics as soon as I install on vehicle as soon as I get a hand to lift into position,
