    Wheel nuts for steel wheels

I have recently bought some steel wheels for my D2 and notice that they need flat wheel nuts, not the standard bevelled nuts.

Anyone know where I could get some flat wheel nuts? Or what the thread size is to get some made up?

D2 is M14 x 1.5 thread. A pic of the stud hole would help - what size is it? If it was normal, the LR part is ANR4851, and the Nice nuts # is NN621 ( Repco)( NN621-25 for a pack of 25)

The new Commodores have M14 wheel nuts. I sourced some at a local tyre and wheel store as left overs from steel to alloy swaps.
Beware the spare wheel holder studs. They are "different" and won't take the drive wheel nuts. Maybe somebody else can clarify.

Ok finally got a photo for you. They're steel rims with flat surface, no bevel/taper in the hole for the nuts so I need flat edged nuts.
Stud hole is D2 sized, I've trial fitted them and they fit perfectly, just need the right wheel nuts.

Having looked at the photo. I reckon you should go visit a decent seller/fitter of wheels ( Not necessarily a franchise but someone who has been in business a fair while) and take a rim with you for their opinion. I say this because it's possible that the rims need a small chamfer and will require beveled nuts. I know I've been in the wilderness a long time, but I don't think flat nuts are to be used on wheels.I don't mind being wrong in this, but at least ask someone in the business.

Especially when the holes appear to be on a curved section of the rim.
IMHO something appears very odd with those rims.

    D2 steels take tapered nuts.

Look at the alloy wheel nut & you'll see the tapered at the base for use on steel wheels (some cars have alloy road wheels with a steel spare).

I agree with the above. Something doesn't look right. I'm not even sure if they'd be legal.

I note they have 1200kg stamped on them. Is that OK for a D2?

As already mentioned, these dont look right, maybe its the photo?. Where did you get these?
I'm almost tempted to suggest these are from a Commodore.
Looking at my D2 steelies in the shed, the holes are definitely countersunk for standard chamfer type nuts and the nuts have a chamfer to match. The centre hole also has a nice rolled lip. Quite different to these.

    cheers
