Crank angle sensor replacement - Testbook?
Hi all - after a crappy few months where it seemed the '02' Disco V8 was sticking its finger up at me and breaking bits and pieces every other day -finally have all nutted out, except for crankshaft angle sensor, which is in the mail.
Reading through Rave, replacement looks simple, had no concerns... until reading through the 'Description and Operation' it states Testbook is required to reset after installing a new sensor?
Is anything required when re-installing? Have noted in the forums people have mentioned taking spare units with them when heading out touring... suggesting don't need to perform any software resets?
Thanks in advance.

It's not mandatory to do a reset, I changed mine and it was just happy to have a new one in straight away.
You also don't need test book, any OBD doofer can reset the code, the reason to do that is so you can see if any new errors are occuring and not get caught up on issues with old repaired ones.

Thanks for that. Just thought I better check before unplug the old one and find the car wouldn't start at all.

Hi wesbt,
I didn't have to reset anything after replacing it.
The answers to my identical question are in the link to the thread below:
