    D2 Ace lines

    My D2 has a leak from up around the ACE pump, whether its from the crimp or a split in the flexible hose is unknown.
    I have another hose section to replace this one but am hearing rumblings about how difficult it is to replace. LR made new parts because of this.

    Just as an idea,,
    If I use just the hard line connection into the pump whats to stop me running flexible line from there to another hard line connection just short of the ACE valve block??

    I can't answer your specific question about replacing the rigid pipe with flexible hose but the rigid pipes cannot be replaced normally. They are installed at the factory at build as one section and LR supply replacements parts as multiple sections.

    I suppose if you were taking the body off etc you may.

    I once thought my ACE was leaking and couldn't source it. Was really bugging me for weeks until I found the problem was the hydraulic jack sitting in the battery compartment just above the front r/h wheel was weeping oil from around the rubber re-fill grommet. probably not your issue as you are looking at the ACE pump.

    The question was, I thought, more a hydraulic line connection problem.

    AFAIK the line from the pump runs to the ACE valve block but for some reason (ease of build??) there is a join near the drivers wheel.

    The original ACE pipes were fitted with the body off and can't be removed/replaced in one piece. The replacement pipes come in two parts which join behind the drivers side front wheel.

    The remove/refit procedure is described in Recall Action Bulletin A/B/D 203 - "ACE High Pressure Pipes Fracturing" which should be on your RAVE CD.

    and please be AWARE that often the pipe is very difficult to remove from the block and can snap at the collet / swage. I had 2 new pipes to fit and by the time I got it out, 2 more had snapped as well.............................resulting in ACE is no more, removed it completely because its not field fixable and you 99% likely to be going home on a truck.

    I dont miss it at all, standard roll bars are fine and there is more room in the engine bay without the pump as well.........oh an no more silly landrover fluid needed either.
