TD5 Long Lived?

At the risk of invoking Murphy's law, I have 346,000 km's on my TD5, I know the service history [ Illawarra council vehicle, then pedantic Englishman ], I service the little lady every 5,000 km's, every month I check for oil leaks, never disappointed, have had the usual wear @ tear issues, replaced what needed to be replaced when the need arose, I see no reason to not reach 500,000 km's. Not chipped, btw. Bob

I reckon you'll see over that Bob, these engines ONLY pack it in when a fault happens like overheating or oil pump bolt etc etc.

I am at 303,000kms D2a 2003 auto and have done no repairs apart from preventative maintenance and the obvious fuel pressure regulator replacement/repair about 6 times.

Regular servicing and being alert for any new sounds or changed behaviour is the key. Mine is not chipped and has been in my hands since it had 27kms on the clock.
