No they are not compatible. I did a complete empty of the red, then flushed a few times with clean water (from the tap ). Ran with water to get a cooling system flush from supercheap, then used the flush as directed. Flushed a few more times again, made sure water was absolutely clear before adding new green.

The cooling system flush fetched out a heap of pink 'gunk'. Plus, with the bottom hose disconnected if you blow hard through the top hose it pushes out all the water from the block & heater.

I believe this pink coolant was causing me to run 'hotter than the normal just hot'.

The pink coolant won't make it run hotter or cooler. Old coolant or being clogged with gunk will run potentially run hot no matter what the color.

Yes true, the old coolant had 'gunked up' (I should have said that). I replaced with green because I had a bottle of concentrate already, plus its cheaper & recommended to replace the pink by a lot of people on here.

Now a week on & she's still running great. Back to enjoying the disco again rather than worrying about her.

Though now some manufacturers have thrown random hats into the ring with green OAT's and red glycols. It's really a start from fresh if unknown and stick with what you've used from then. The original pink rover stuff is OAT and seems to work with the alloys in the system best.
