Weird, indicators and central looking don't work, flashing D

do know if its rain water related as we had huge down pours, this arvo went to unlock D2 and not response from the indicator lights, doors were unlocked. I put the key in ignition and got 6 bells, Disco started, but the D for drive indicator on dash flashes, the D has a diagonal line dissecting it from top to bottom and a small line from side ( pic is a little blurry).
Indicators did not work whilst driving, changing to other gears only displayed the flashing D.
Stopping car, cannot use fob to lock doors,
    Any one experience this before?

Just found out that the rear wipers and fog light switches on the instrument binnacle also don't work. It must be a common fuse circuit for all these to go.
Still to wet to check out all fuses.

I am pretty sure I have had exactly the same symptoms. Check your park bulbs, either in the head lights or in the corner of the indicator lenses, and indicator bulbs. In my case it was one of these that had blown.

Just saw your second post, and it reminded me, I had indicators that only worked depending on whether the headlights were on or off, then a variety of other functions stopping.

    cheers

I know that some things like brake light bulbs would stop dash lights working, with mine the indicators don't work with lights on or off.
tommorrow i will check fuses first then get onto the bulbs.
Hawkeye test of indictors gave left working even though not flashing inside or outside, it didn't give a working reading on right indicator

I did a bit off googling Hastykiwi and found an old post of yours which led to this, which is basically the symptoms I have as per list.,
    Land Rover V8 Discovery Faults
so might be another possibility to look at.

Yes those are the symptoms. In my case it was one of the indicator park bulbs having gone. Rather than just blown, it was prob shorting which would give the alarm the yips. In the case of your article it was moisture causing the same. Def worth a look.

Have a look at the passenger compartment fuse box. It seems that it's not uncommon to get water running into the back of it resulting in mayhem. The conjunction of rain and faults points in that direction.

passenger compartment means inside the vehicle where passengers of the vehicle are. Ie Drivers side under steering panel.
engine compartment means out side in the engine bay

PS don't look behind the glove box or behind the kick panels in the passenger compartment, holy moses! look at all those relays and wires

Yep considering it was working fine yesterday, and today problems after the heavy down pours of last night , if might be on the money.
