My water pump did 295,000 kms / 9 yrs and was perfect. I just changed it as a precaution when I did the radiator and all the hoses.

If it wasn’t of the ratchet spanners I think I would still be there.....

Point being these will give the angle of the head you need but lock at the angle and not flop around.

    I have a 2000 Disco.

Def need at least an 8mm ratchet spanner with a swivel head. Its handy for one of the bolts closest to the block.

Ive got a bluepoint set and they worked a treat!

And a set of nimble fingers.

If you had done the o-ring between the water pump support and block at the same time you wouldn't have needed the ratchet spanner.

    How do you mean support?

My pump was held on by 5 bolts and had o-rings on both sides of the pump to seal it.

Mine were a Supercheap special ... 8mm to 19mm in 1mm steps, open oposite end, long handles ... Stanley brand .... $49.95

Stanley Spanner Set - Geared, 12 Piece, Metric - Supercheap Auto Australia

They seem to be pretty good quality.
Flexi-head would be nice ... but not for an extra $215.

How could I say no at that price ! ??
