It looks like I am worrying about nothing.

I also found a link a few minutes ago to a couple of videos on this site which confirms your observations. So why the light is listed the owners manual, who knows.

The manual covers all rhd export markets, not just Australia.

I believe the hi/lo is a warning that the t/c is in neutral. Some markets had a interlock which prevented the key being removed if the TC was in neutral.

The light wasn't on my D2a either.
I had 3 D2's over the years all bought new,and the last one,a D2a was by far the best one.

The two earlier one's had a good few warranty issues,but the D2a had none.in fact it was one of the best vehicles i have ever owned.:):)
