    $15k seems about right to me ... I don't think it will sell on eBay but find out where it is and go see it, meet the owner and get an idea of the type of person they are and how they've cared for the vehicle ... you'll know soon enough how well it's been looked after, serviced and whether you want to buy it!

    Yes but seeing the compliance plate is 5/2004 it's not going to be a 5/2004 build.

    Judging by the end VIN on the diesel fuel pipe recall the last Au delivery Td5's were built in March 2004. I'd call BS on anyone claiming 5/2004 for an Australian Td5.

    From the pics on eBay, this one does not have ACE or SLS, but they all have ABS, HDC, traction control.

    The comment I made about March is incorrect. There were AU spec d2's built in late April 2004.

    The final D2 VIN with build date listed in Microcat came off the production line on 24/05/2005.

    gravedig. It seems the sale has fallen through. am now looking at a manual classic town 2004. Are there any special issued with a manual? Would have thought that maybe more fuel efficient and hopefully more robust than auto? Any thoughts.

    It's got a UK reg. so probably the UK. There are 195 vehicles which have a VIN but no build date listed after the 24/5/2004. It looks like these 195 were built from 25/5/2004 through to 27/5/2004 when production of the D2 ceased. The very last of these is in the British Motor Heritage collection at Gaydon. I recall reading that the very last D2's were built for LR employees, and didn't go into the normal distribution channels which may explain lack of build date?
