Replacing a wood centre panel with the rubber mats.

    G'day all
Being an ES model, my disco has a bit of the wood panelling.
Looking at replacing the wood panelling around the shift lever/ hi/lo selector area with the rubber mats, as my fake wood is starting to discolour and it looks tacky IMO.
Any issues with simply swapping it out for the rubber mats?
    Cheers

I think the wood panelling also holds your window switches in place so you might need to replace that part too. It might just cover them though but check first.

The wood panel is one piece and holds the window switchs and heated seats switchs too, may be a problem.
I removed mine and cut and polished it came up like new.
You can get it french polished by a pro.
Also the hi/lo lever gater clip is different too.

Just checked mine, and they seem to be two separate panels?
Even so, I might get it replaced. prefer the rubber.
If not I'll just have to deal with it
Wood panel is easier for me to work with anyway

No need to replace the console, just throw the rubber mat over the top.
