The most important tool imo Viscous fan removal spanners
so much of the engine can be accessed easier with that fan out of the way...

Hi Paul You listed CDL reinstated I have a D2 Td5 2001 where did you get the CDL assembly?
I was hoping to buy just the assembly.

I think for a Cape trip or any long trip a Nanocom
    would be worth consideration

    Hi

We did a trip to lake eyre last year and I asked a similar question. We took a lot of spare parts ... used none!

Hope there's some useful info there for you!

    Cheers

I agree with sat phone and check book. It not clear what is the weak link in a d2 and taking lots of spares simply adds weight and makes thing less pleasant and more likely to fail.

So apart from money and a phone a 2nd car with a solid tow would be my recommendation...

Most likely failure will come from the corrugations shaking everything loose more so than vehicle failure. After all you can drive a Camry up there now!

    Hope this helps!

    Bryan.
