I haven't tried it during the day. But on the dash is a little black button which is a light sensor, make be its for that. I thought it was for the auto dimming rear view mirror.

I think thats for the air conditioner, its a sun sensor and helps the AC know which side of the car the sun is coming in through. I think it also has something to do with defrosting or something related to the AC when its cold, dark and the boogie men are out.

On My D2 if you lock it and Hold the lock button down for 2 secs or longer the lights come. Auto turn off after a while.

its in the owners manual, standard feature.

I had been aware this existed but hadn't tried it out. A quick check and I found it was already configured on my car.

According to RAVE it's triggered by holding the lock button of more than one second. Lights will extinguish after 30 seconds or can be manually cancelled by pushing the lock button again.

As above, always been on mine. 2 seconds on, 30 seconds off. Fairly base model, v8, auto cloth, 7 seats but they're aftermarket, coils, ace. Knob on dash is a/c thought.

What's the BCU about the head lights staying on at night till
You reach the path etc?

Thank you "It's not worth complaining" about this feature I didn't know about it and thought I'd read the owners manual cover to cover when I bought myTD5. I'd always been too scared to hold the remote buttons down as I think it sets the alarm off just like a panic button.

Its a standard feature, its all in the manual, as is holding the recirc button on the A/C in while on fresh until it double beeps, then it goes to recirc for I think 5 mins then back to fresh. Saves you having to remember to put it back to fresh if you hit recirc for a short period.

Also did you know that the intermittent delay function on the front wipers can be used on the rear wiper when the front wipers are running continuously.

Thanks guys. Works on the base model TD5 of 2000 even though owner's manual says 'if fitted'.

Now I have to decide between pressing the lock button and using the flashlight app on my phone...
