rocker cover gasket and the harness plug.
Hello,
I seem to be having a bad run on my TD5 first the FPR found these on ebay eBay Australia: Buy new & used fashion, electronics & home d will rebuild it when they come. Done the o rings must be the rubber inside it.
Then while under the the car I see there is oil dripping from the front of the engine the alternator is covered in oil. I have done the timing chain big black cover on the front no leaks there. Just wondering if anyone else has had this ?? I have been looking around but doesn't seem obvious as to where it is coming from.

There is a short rubber oil drain hose between the block and the vacuum pump on the front of the alternator it could be leaking from there or from the oil supply pipe that connects under the vacuum pump.
cant believe I forgot the TD5 alternator had the vac pump on it.......

Check inlet manifold bolts. I had oil around the alternator and it was my inlet manifold. The front two bolts were lose. took it off, checked straight then back on. All good.
Hello,
Thanks everybody for the advise but had a good look under there today and it looks like it is coming out of the rear of the alternator so might be the rear seal on the vacuum pump the front is dry all the oil fittings are dry. Might try to remove it if I have time tomorrow.

Sounds like you are onto it but for what it is worth I was getting oil dripping in that area and stopped it by changing the old (probably porous) turbo hose for a nice silicon one. Expect (in my case) it was oil from the breather hose going back through the intake and oozing out the old hose under turbo pressure.

did you find out where the oil comes from. I'm curious because I have the same problem that I've waited. but a little oil under a land rover is just as dominant dogs they do not leak the only notice ther territory![]()
