    Red face TD5 Map file

    Hi All

I need some help getting my original map file off my D2; I got a new Nanocom last week and had some trouble getting it to read my engine functions, I could read most other stuff (gearbox, air bags, SLS), I got this sorted with the help of Josh_WA (thanks Josh) we flashed the kernel and it started to work. My issue now is it gets about 25-30% of reading the map then stops with an error and cannot continue. Has anyone else had this problem and can anybody enlighten me.

On a funnier note, last night I decided to try and add a second FOB I bought 2nd hand, so here I am in the Disco going through the motions and find myself locked in the car, windows up car would not start neither FOB's would work and I was supposed to be taking the wife out to a dinner party in 45mins. It took me another 20min to get the original FOB working again and escape the D2...moral of my story when playing with key FOB's and Nanocom's open the windows first. Just glad I was not busting for a pee

Re the error while reading the map file

    http://www.aulro.com/afvb/electronic...n-nanocom.html

Try an external power source while doing it
Also I would strongly suggest you DON'T go writing another map to the car until you get past this issue.
I did and trashed and ECU turned out to be a very expensive exercise.

Might be better if you posted in the Electronic Diagnostic section too

    Hello,
My Evo did this when i first brought it, I checked the battery did everything but after sitting for not very long it lost its power so I brought a new one, due to low volts the ECU doesn't like it, now I have dual batteries no problems, try coping the file after a bit of a drive even better.

Thanks I think you are right, the voltage is 13.2 but I tried with the motor running and I got through the 1st stage, but it stopped (froze) during the security check; I turned the Nanocom off after 10min of no movement, I think it was because the engine was running???? I have 2 new Optima batteries on the way 1 red 1 yellow for my dual install maybe I have to wait till then...Thanks again..Joe

Running he same battery setup. Bought a columbia overland tray from lucky 8 but it seems mycar is weird or they made a design fault as there is a protruding weld that blocks figment of the ECU. A little bit of work maneuvering the thing to the side and all is good. I run red And yellow 34's and couldn't be happier. My engel is much happier for it.

I bought the same tray, same batteries and a Redarc 200Amp charger solenoid isolator, just waiting for the batteries to arrive, I cannot believe that I can purchase the batteries from Vic del to Perth $90 cheaper than I can buy them local, no wonder most people including myself buy overseas or interstate.

The only thing "weird" about your vehicle is that it is a Td5.

The US didn't get Td5's so all their accessories are designed for the V8. The V8 ECU is mounted in a different location to the Td5 so the tray isn't made to accommodate mounting the ECU.

    Joe,

You'll get that fault if you have an MSB non-flashable ECU installed, as it not possible to read the map from these ECU's. The flashable "NNN" ECU's were fitted to vehicles with the EU3 motor from the factory, so 2002MY onwards.

I had a quick look at you previous posts and you haven't mention what year your d2 is. Judging by the nudge bar you purchased it is pre-facelift?

    cheers
