Thread: ACE system

One of the two new LR parts comes with an inbuilt baffle to reduce noise. I have heard of a person getting Pirtek to replace the entire hose only to find the noise drove them crazy enough to replace again.

I'm not a mech but I have seen the new bits and the join will be near the drivers wheel somewhere.

Its easy enough to flush the system,, have been a few posts on just that,,

whether by the time the fresh fluid arrives back at the engine bay ALL the metal has traveled with it is another story--

Took the old girl to the the wash bay and introduced her to some gamlin and she came up a treat. Drove her back to the the mechanics put her over the hoist to see if I could find the leek. Was taking the radiator cover, air filter out when the mechanic noticed a drip coming from the banjo plug.

We checked the tightness of the bolt and found it was tight enough. We watched for a few more seconds and out comes another drop.

At this point off comes the bolt to check washers. Pulled the bolt out of the banjo plug and found that at the top of the bolt there is a washer that appears to have a rubber inner pressed into it that was perished, hence the leak.

Replaced the washer put new washers on the top back into the pump tightened up and hey presto no more leak.
