    coolant leak

hi i've got a coolant leak on the passengers side of the engine on a td5 disco 2 appears to be from the fitting attaching the lower hose, is this regular and is it a replace to fix or get a gasket remove3 and clean outlet? also what other areas need to be checked for more leaks as i've just been through and replaced all engine coolant hoses. chris

Water pump leaks on that side, almost impossible to see unless you get a mirror and torch and check out the weep hole in the housing. Run your fingers around the pump housing bolts when its cool and see if feel moisture, of so suspect the housing seal o ring.

Also evident by coolant on the floor just between block and passenger side front wheel or by the streaks of dried coolant on the block. just below pump housing

    Kms?

    Good move changing the hoses.
As Alpick has mentioned it could be the waterpump seal failing and leaking from the bleed hole.

I have found that the water pump leak is often a pre-cursor to the early TD5 head gasket failing.
After nice new hoses pressure finds its way out the next weakest/worn area, this being the pump seal and Coolant Cap.

Of course this is worst case scenario, so dont stress yet.

    cheers

There are also two other spots I know of that leak on the left of the TD5.
-The little hose under the turbo that conects to the pipe around the rear of the motor.
It's small, short and different size each end. It's a pain to change.
-There is a plug that screws into the head that can weap.
It's on the head beween the exhuast outlets.
    Cheers, Kyle
