Calling D2 owners in Canberra - or those that have visited

Our current ride, a D1 with 40mm lift requires a clearance of 1940mm. We are looking to get a D2, which the dimensions say has a hight of 1940mm.

Has anyone parked their D2 in any covered car park in Canberra?

The Civic Centre claims 2m on the web but 1900 on the hight bar when you get there. The National Convention Centre is also 1900.

Are there any covered car parks in Civic that a D2 will fit into?

The wife does not seem happy to get another car that we can not park in the city as we will be taking the kids to day care in the new year.

By a D3 or RRS and you will not have an issue.

According to the specs a standard D1 has a height of 1966 and a standard D2 has a height of 1941.

So if your D1 with lift fitted then a standard D2 will - I never had an issue with my D1 fitting in any of Canberra carparks but did just touch the bar a few times.

I have been a regular visitor to Canberra for many years, and have for the last 10 years of D2 ownership, NEVER had a problem parking anywhere in Canberra, unlike Sydney - which is basically why I shop in Canberra and not Sydney.

But isn't that in your lifted D1 not a standard D2?

    Thats great news.

Do you have roof rails? Where do you normal park?

I have a lift and larger tyres. So can't fit in tO car parks. The hight bar bangs on the roof. It use to fit and prob' still would if you ignored the hight bar, but they lowered them twelve or so months ago. We bought a small car as a second car just so it wouldn't be a problem here or in Sydney.

Yes to roof rails; we tend to shop in Civic, Woden and Fyshwick, but have parked at many of the attractions and also government offices.

    Cool.

    I'll stop worrying about it.
