    Help with my windscreen wipers

    Gday all. Can you please advise me whats happening with my wipers?. They wont park. The sweep function works but stops when I let go of the switch (Wont park problem maybe??) and the intermittent does not work. Yeah I know good roadworthy certificate hey.What is going on with it? Any help appreciated please.

    wiper switch gums up over time. some have said it can be cleaned but I replaced mine when it got real bad. pretty common.

    Thanks jwb, the switch I'm guessing your refering to the stork on the right side of the steering wheel yes?.

    Wiper switch

    Yep I'm in the same boat.........From an intial start - Wipers work fine when I use the windscreen washers but won't work on intermit or steady wipe.

    Turn switch to fast wipe and they work after about 15 seconds if I 'jiggle' the switch a bit. Now they are working flat out so I turn them back to regular speed and they often freeze half-swipe....think about it for 10 seconds then work. Very frustrating and I know I need to replace the complete stalk.!!

    Strange though.....once they finally do work properly and have been on for a few minutes - all of the wiper functions work OK which is why I have perservered with them for so long!

    Bit of an update for anyone who's interested. My mechanic tried a different switch no good, I bought a second hand wiper motor no good, I bought a second hand fusebox no good, in the end it went to an auto elec and 6 hours later identified a crook terminal or wire on the back of the fusebox. Its been a long haul but so far, problem solved working as they should be
