I'd go the CDL first. If you do some serious off road work, it can save other parts from damage.
Evening.
Been looking at the various numbers on the latest bank account statement, and it looks like i'm going to have to hold off on a few slightly less essential mods for the disco, until I sell my little toyota echo.
Might be a good thing, teach me some patience....bucklys of that!
So, what I have to decide is, do I go for the package to return the function of the CDL, or do I go for a winch?
Honestly, I'm leaning more towards the winch, as I don't have to pull apart the centre console, which as it has the wood panel and is thus stuck down with a tough adhesive an real pain.
I'd also probably use the winch more, given we have a property and it could get a work out during day to day running of the place.
Just after your thoughts, as you will undoubtedly have more working knowledge of such matters than me.
Don't get me wrong, CDL is on my list of parts marked "Yes" instead of "Maybe", it's just a fair whack of the dosh that's not really justified at the moment.
Cheers

cdl first.
then wait and buy a winch from aldi when on special for $200.![]()
CDL without a doubt. For the farm use a chain.

CDL for sure, used the winch once on my D1... to recover a patrol. Luckily our D2 is an 01, so we made a lever for CDL, never been stuck in eaither of the CDL cars and i don't exactly go the easy way.

It IS considerably cheaper i guess![]()
What costs did you get quoted for to make the CD mod. I am looking at doing the same, but thinking ofpurchasing from the UK.
If yours is one with the internals just not the lever then go CDL
As for pulling out the centre console, the kit I have is a simple T handle on the floor although if the right kit had been around at the time I may have preferred to go with the CDL control on the high low ratio lever.
