JEGS Dropout Battery Boxes - JEGS
look up the thread from Hamish35 - he's got a battery tray that holds 2 optimas where the original battery is
Yep, I have two yellow top Optima's in the original location using an Aedofab battery tray purchased from the USA.
If I remember correctly, mine is the tray Hamish used as a basis for his.
Mine is installed in a D2 V8 so does not need the ECU relocated, having said that it should be quiet simple to make a mounting bracket for it between the battery tray and fuse box.

I made up a drawer unit for the back which housed my battery but Ive changed my mind, bit the bullet and bought a 5 seater storage bin and will install it there. Best part about it is its safe from heat etc and you cant even see it its there. I will put some pics up in my thread when I do it. (Hopefully this weekend). I have a 120A/H deep cycle battery and it will fit in there. The only thing I'm spewin about is the new storage bin quarter trim I bought is not in as good nic as the rest of my interior.
I installed an Optima Bluetop in my rear drivers side bin, using one of the Traxide Kits. I put some wood under the floor of the bin, and bolted a commercial battery tray to it. Ran the wiring through the car, under the trim. I took inspiration from someone else's installation on this forum, can't remember whos though. It worked well, some slight issues with keeping the bin front secured. Have since made a drawer system, which keeps things stable.
Cheers
There's been a number of threads regarding this in past. I have recently relocated the battery in my D2a TD5 from the engine bay (ARB tray) to rear left storage bin. Thread below has another link to a lot of discussion on various pros and cons, as well as a couple of pictures of my install.
