What tyres do YOU run?

well thats the answer right there then I guess, ...there's LT and there's LT....
I guess the Michelins had the emphasis on 'T' as in Truck, and the Wranglers had the emphasis on 'L' as in Light....

My experience was that the front tyres became prone to locking up under sudden braking when I fitted the new Michies, the ride was harder despite my efforts with tyre pressures, and all that went away when I went for a softer tyre in the Wrangler.
For the record all the suspension etc was in good order.
As I said, that was my experience.

If you plan to offroad, always look at an LT tyre, it has nothing to do with tread grip, but load rating and thicker construction (also often only rated to 160km/h)

Yes, but I want LTs (or at least proven sidewalls) with max available tyre height without a body lift. I do like what I hear about the Pirelli Scoprion ATs.

To quote you from some time ago - For standard D2a, Tombie says biggest are 265/75 (D = 31.65) - but with possible rubbing. [For 245/75, D = 30.47].

Although another source says "Largest to fit on a stock DSII are 30.5 inch sized tyres, of which the 245/75R16 size seems to be the most often mounted.

Off topic, but do Pirelli still make those calendars? I have clear memories of looking through one as a wee young lad. :)

Ive got BFG MT 265/75r16 on standard suspension..... i cut front guard so they would fit and they do very nicely...... only my turning circle is terrible now! but off road its a great unless you want to U turn

Had a set o pirelli 235.70.16 ATRs.when I went to replace them there were none in Aust. Pirelli were taking over in there own right. Went to Bridgestone. Didn't like them. Now back on Pirelli's. 245.70.16 ATR LT. Love them. :)
Incidently they now make 235.70s in LTs.

BFG KM2 in a 255/85R16. I love them so far, but they probably have less than 500 miles on them.

Before that I had Yokohama Goelander ATS in the stock 255/65R16.

I like the 245/75 R16 size. It looks right with a 2" lift. Desert touring is my game. I put Cooper STs on soon after I got the car new. I've had a fabulous run from these. I recently decided to change from the ST to the STT. These look even better. The first pair are just over a year old and after one big desert trip (Victoria to Kintore, Sandy blight Junction Rd, and back) hardly any sign of wear. I have six good STTs, four ST-Cs that just won't wear out for the trailer, and the original Michelins on there own set of wheels sitting in the shed.

Currently BFG AT, 265 / 65 on Disco 3. Got cut up and chipped pretty badly although have done 50k++ towing heavy van and on a lot of desert dirt rock etc. No flats so pretty happy, but need to replace. Anyone know anything about the Kelly Safaris?
