It may be worth looking at air actuated winch setups on 4wd comp rigs. They do very similar things with winches?

I have a push button CDL (labelled In/Out on the switch) in my newly acquired D2. :p
I doubted it actually had a CDL being an '02 model, but I'm stoked that it was retrofitted (transfer case replacement) by the second last owner, going by the service books.
I'm unsure if it's air or electric, but as soon as I can, I'll get under it and take a look. Have just driven it back from Brisbane (without a hitch by the way), so the last thing I want to do at the moment is climb under it. I'd rather lay in bed for a while. :D
If its electronic don't bet it'll last (or even work to start with) . They were pretty notorious for it, consider where they are and the crap that splashes on electric bits that were designed for inside applications.
On the winches, why do they pressurised instead of just venting with a breather like the diffs. Pressurised risks blowing seal & lubes out while a breather is passive. Going to breathe mine into a small alloy manifold along with the diffs, gearboxes etc and run a single from it up the snorkel.
Can the Norgren Cylinder run vacuum?
Would make running it easy as on a TD5  And no hard mounted compressor...
LT95 actuators suck the wang (and I don't mean 80'scomputer's)
Should run vacuum ok, they have a bi-directional seal for pressure from both directions so it should run vac the same. Will check it out.
If this looks like it's viable in terms of pricing etc would we have interest in kits? I could supply the air parts if someone can work out the bracketry. Only because I don't have a D2 based transfer, or would a D1 be ok
I would be very interested; and could design the brackets, I have a D2 transfer case arriving Tuesday arvo complete with the CDL, I'll get to work on the bracket if you send me the details of the ram, or buy one and I will send you the cash for it. When its complete we can run tests on the pro type on this transfer case before we release a drawing or product..Cheers Joe
