Well I had a look on the ecu. The original sticker had MSB101193 and I did'nt pull all the way out as I did'nt want to disturb it too much but I thought it said made in Japan, does that sound right?. It also has another sticker from Triumph Rover Spares saying Disco TD5 Auto tested 16/07/08 and what looks like a newer sticker seal. I know its not much to go on but does anyone have any thoughts on that info?. On the receipt I have it says ecu upgrade $700. I'm thinking maybe it has'nt got the power upgrade. There is a 08 phone number on it but I dont think that will help as the work was done here in Vic and these things are probably sitting on the shelf in a workshop or a local (Vic) supplier storage area.
Any thoughts on this most welcome
Thanks
Steve

Sounds right...
You have a TRS upgraded chip in that ECU... They were a lot pricier a while back...
Should be about this:

Wow thanks Tombie I was'nt expecting that. Is that all they go up to 83.7kw chipped? I would have thought it would be more as this seems to have a lot more go than my pajero 2.8td I used to have and it was I think 80 or 90 kw standard. I am having trouble reading that pic so I'm going to try and blow the pic up as much as I can cause I am very interested to see what it says.
thanks mate
Steve
P.S are they a good upgrade to have?, compared to others out there

Steve.
That dyno print out will be at the wheels. Not manufacture stated specs. The Paj figures from a dyno would be down around the 60kw at the wheels.
As LR spec the TD5 at 100kw. But in this case only made 71kw at the wheels.

Theres a lot of driveline loss... That vehicle would be making around 130kw at the flywheel

Ok understand now thanks guys.
