    2 things come to mind.

Are you sure it's belt slipage?
I know, but a chirping manifold due to a broken/loose stud sounds the same.
Remove the belt and start it up, isolates if it's the belt then

If it's in the belt or pullies I'd sugest you look at the fan bearing in the timing case.
Mine was spining in the housing giving a belt squeal noise.
Also check the idler pully if yours doesn't have ACE.
    Cheers, Kyle

I bought a new belt , to install before a trip, it slipped. Long story short, it was made in Italy, supposed to be exactly the same as the original, but put both together , the Italian one was a fraction longer. [ non-ace belt] Replaced it with a new belt of the same origin as the old one, no slippage. If all else fails, check the origin of the belt, Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Same here I just fitted new britpart belt with ace now Im getting a chug chug noise when shutting the eng off? The new belt was much easier to fit as it must be a little longer 7PK1870
We fit old belt back on see what goes.

The LR Genuine replacement ACE/AC/PS Td5 belt is a 7PK1887 ContiTech, so I'd be surprised if it's a case of the belt being too long - maybe too short?

Since replacing drive belt I have a slight squeek when starting and a chugging when stopping. Does this balancer to pulley gap seem right about 2mm?
    Thanks

I think that the pulley is on the way out---see if you can get some movement in the pulley I can't get any from the new one

CRC Belt Grip.....Used to do wonders when when I was doing refrigeration.

Doesn't solve the problem, but, it is a good temporary fix.

    Cheers,
