interesting, and by the time you add freight how much? not far off Aussie prices![]()
Are electric window regulators an item where aftermarket is fine, or is it better to stick with LR/OEM?
After a break in last night and replacing the glass, I have found I need to replace my drivers door one and I'm thinking I should do all 4 as preventative maintenance.
A quick look at UK (Rimmers) suggests about 80 - 110 pounds for LR and 20 - 30 pounds for aftermarket.
However, if the aftermarket plastic wont last, then the inconvenience factor makes the OEM a better proposition.

Be nice if someone was actually able to answer the original question!!! ie Are electric window regulators an item where aftermarket is fine, or is it better to stick with LR/OEM?
I didn't say I was buying overseas, just provided the prices as indicative. wherever possible I will buy OZ, providing the premium is not exhorbitant.

Once had drivers side regulaor replaced with aftermarket unit, didn`t last very long at all.
Replaced with LR part, still O.K. after 50Ks,but they all suffer from a weakness in the spotwelded shaft on the quadrant.seems a bit of a lottery.some people have had no problems with either, some have.
Next time, most likely i`d favour original and hope for no hassles.
You can repair them if you have the tools etc,but I guess it`s up to you on that.
Trev.
Thanks for replies. I have just found out that trev is right. Justfishing had one of his go on his sister/brother Classic recently and then welded up a repair.
If I can find my lost digital camera, I'll hopefully remember to take and post some pics, and maybe even some narrative, as he has "volunteered" to repair mine late this coming week. Watch this space.

I've had Aftermarket in my d1 and d2 and they are reliable. Spot welds and nylon runners being problem areas cheers
I've had to replace 3 regulators on 2 D2s with aftermarket, like Franz, from Karcraft, none of which have broken since. Issue for me has been the nylon runners. I'm not inpressed with Land Rover OEM regulators .
