Reason was I decided to move down to 16" rims to increase my tyre choices. Decided on using 285/75R16 because it's a common size with the Land Cruiser and patrol boys - means most tyre shops keep the size in stock and there's a lot of good second hand deals on eBay and Gumtree.
Today I have fitted a set of four BF Goodrich All-Terran KO for $160.00 fitted and balanced. They've got about 30% life in them.
It'll be boderline on weather or not I will need larger flares to pass engineering - see what mood the engineer is in. With the wider tyres and +30mm offset rims, they're all the way out to the flares.

The wheels were cheap enough - $114.00 each and $70.00 delivery, but the hub caps and nuts were not! They added an extra $300.00 onto the price!

Tip for anyone else in the future, get these from the UK directly:
Britcar (UK) Ltd > ANR4851. WHEEL NUT STEEL DIS11 (P)
Britcar (UK) Ltd > DTC100810 CENTRE TRIM ROADWHEEL DIS11 (G)

Just something I experienced with these rims (used to run them) I could not get them to stop vibrating, I could get the wheel balanced and it would still not help.

Found out that they do not centre too well on the hub and every time after being of road the vibration would be back.

I did notice their centre bore size is just slightly larger than the D2 hub size.

A quick piece of safety advice,after 40years working in and around BHP Port Kembla i can see in your foto's the stand under the long arm is parallel to the arm,for your own safety it would be better to put it at 90 deg in the hollow between the 2 bushes and in the vee of the stand,very little/zero chance of is slipping off then.I have 35cm angle welded to the feet of my stands flange up for extra stability.
Oh btw showing off your D2's is making me envious/

Chris, where you using the correct wheel nuts when you had the Steel rims. As far as I understand, the centre hole is not necessary to centre the rims. With steel rims, the nuts are tapered so that they centre the rim as they are screwed on. I know on my Rangie rims, the centre hole is much bigger than the hub.

Thanks Kev,

Its getting there slowly.

Probably the only thing I would have changed with the wheels is the finish.

They also do them with a black Teflon coating instead of the matt black with machined lip.

I was using the standard LR steel rim wheel nuts.

There was an old thread on here where a few guys where having the same issue with those wheels.

From what I understand the D2 centre bore is 70.mm? The Dynamics are 70.2mm, so should be pretty much sitting on there?

Thanks mate,

Yep, LRA Extra Large Flares.

I painted them with Satin Black bumper paint so the finish matches the snorkel and door handles etc.

You are correct, hub size is 70.1mm on the D2, so 70.2mm should not make much difference but...

Sorry, no idea on where to find the thread now.

From memory it was under the defender section about balancing mud tyres on the steel rims and issues with these rims.
