The anti-submarining base is the culprit it seems. Most older disco 2's have the problem. What about getting a reupholsterer to re-bolster and re-cover?

    Cheers

    What seat cover code?

    Hi all,
Does anyone know what code is for the fabric on these 2003 disco2A seats? The photo makes them look a litle lighter and more purple than what they actually are. I have the common wear issue and I am keen to purchase a new seat cover base assay, but I am unsure of what code applies. (from earlier in this forum I know what the code for the foam pad base is). Thanks in advance.

The Fabric colour looks to be "Light Tundra" (a creamish green) which will have "Dark Tundra" vinyl (an Olive Green) around the sides. The code for that combination is WQM.
The correct part number from Microcat for a front seat bottom cushion cover in Light/Dark Tundra is : HCA000020WQM

I think it is a little more grey than green...

    Hi again,
Thanks Gary for you answer, however the fabric in middle is actually quite dark grey/black with a green and purply colour fleck. The vinal on outside is very dark grey/black. It is very hard to tell from the photos as both phone and camera make the colours look a lot lighter than what they actually are (and make the grey look a lot more green/purple than what it is). I have attached some more photos to try and show this better (this time from the back seat as the front are faded a lot more from the sun). I have also put in a close up shot of the middle fabric to clearly show the grey/black with green and purple fleck.

    Hi all,
I purchased the foam base pad from Britcar.
Britcar (UK) Ltd > HGB101070 PAD SEAT BASE FRONT(-)POWER SEAT DIS2(G)
It arrived quickly and is as the picture depicts, however is a VERY SOFT foam compared to the passenger seat base (original one still installed from the factory). It is not as supportive at the sides and sinks a lot more in the middle of the seat (this is dissapointing to me as the foam pad I replaced was falling appart and not supportive anymore. I weigharound 78 kilos, so weight being applied is not the issue. (if you squeeze foam on passenger side with hands it is definately a LOT firmer!)

I purchased a new cover for the seat at the same time, and have zip tied all the metal rods (transfered rods from old cover) down to the foam base, so that is not the problem. Not sure if you or anyone else has purchased this foam base from Britcar, but if you have I would be interested to see what you think of them and/or other brands that are out there. They are meant to be an original part I believe.

    Thanks,
    Ruari
