The only difference apart from temp is that the bypass spring is softer in the freeloader thermostat so at idle you have better flow and so your traffic and idle temps are more stable.
Remove the big grille and the temps drop a few degrees.
Just wondering about the parts numbers provided here... What company/brand are they for? And who should I order them threw? I've got a d2 v8 so I was after the one club or JC were talking about...
The Americans swear by these lower temp Stats, I'm not saying it's correct though.
I must be lucky. My liners are still in place - nice and tight and British Offroad recommended a new thermostat at the original spec temp setting so I went with that. I got my motor a bit warm hence the need for head gaskets at the liners still didnt move...gotta be lucky sometimes.
Cheers
The PEL number is a genuine part number, so any supplier should be able to source.
speaking of BOR,,,
They put green coolant in,,
when I asked why, they said Its only the TD5 that needs OAT,, the V8 is all alloy,,
simple really,,:wallbash:
Oh dear, don't you love those conversations.
Fortunately my panel beater just asked for a list of fluids, ordered then all on insurance. A pity they could only get the coolant, auto and engine oils in 20l drums in stock and they don't have a use for the excess.
I like him a lot.
