SLS Compressor - Help Required - Please!!!

    Hi all,

Overnight, my airbags go down (moreso the passenger side, than drivers side). I have changed the original bags for Arnott's recently, thinking they may have been the culprits, but I still have the leak.

I've just checked all the fittings by spraying water and soap, and I have identified the leak to be coming from the LH air valve electrical connector.

Call me silly, and I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen it, but it is definitely coming from the electrical connector (see photo).

Has anyone seen this before, and how do I fix it??

Any help or input greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

I would say it has been compramised internally.
    Replacement will fix it.
And you can keep your old bags as spares

    Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping that it wasn't a replacement job, as the previous owner had replaced it not too long ago. I'll have to check if there is/was any warranty, if it is not repairable.

I really hope there is a fix to the issue.

I got the Arnott's cheap secondhand off eBay, so not stressed about them, and yeah, I've kept the originals for spares.

If the pump is kept out of creeks and the bags are good you should get ten years or more out of the compressor,,

a second pump failure needs more detective work,,

oh, and cant you dismantle the pump??
it may need just a blob of silicone

    Thanks Pedro.

My next move was to pull it out and have a better look.

I did a little bit more 'net' research last night, and I'm hoping that someone can confirm that the valve block is a separate entity to the compressor itself??

It looks like the valve block has a leak, so I'll have to pull it out for a test, and hope that the compressor itself is ok, that is if they are two separate parts of course.

If it helps, here are a couple of diagrams of the compressor unit and valve system I came across from somewhere.

what sort of a load can these airbags take? (want to go pick up some granite rocks without having to put the darn trailer on)
and is replacing the compressor of similar price to converting to just normal suspension?

The airbags will carry at least whatever the load limit is on the rear axle,,
you do know the load figure right??

um.. sure... lol, (damn mad rush for homework)
max legal load 675kg, so after passenger subtraction (which depends on slave labour availability) that'll work it out near enough maybe!
