Thread: Changing TD5 MSB ecu

Hi, I'm about to do the same in a couple weeks when I get back onshore on R&R. I've just bought a Nanocom and will order my chipped ECU also from TRS next week.

I've found a couple of write ups on the net...but they appear to be a bit brief. Hopefully someone on here can point us in the right direction.

You save Injector Codes and Throttle settings before removing the ECU. Once you have the new ECU installed you load these back from file. The only other thing that needs to be done is to go to "Utility Functions" in the Td5 Engine module and select "Learn Security Code". This syncs the security code with the BCU.

VIN can only be edited by Testbook, so not much you can do in that regard.

Just a quick note to say that, if the new ECU does not assume new settings - for example throttle settings - lock the car with the remote control and unlock it...

Do I need to save the injector codes and throttle setting on sd card on nanocom or I can just write down the codes and throttle setting?

Does the learn security code done after pluggin the new ecu? L

Bit quicker saving them on card but no problem writing them down , then fitting the new ecu , then rewrite inj codes and throttle setting to ecu , then as offtrack said utility setting , learn security code key off / when prompted key on ditto all done
