Any ideas on what these two additional connectors are for (two single connection black tab connectors)?
The photo is of the wiring loom that goes to the 4HP22 automatic transmission in the TD5. They were not connected when the automatic transmission was removed.
I think they are for a V8 as they have an extra temp switch in the transfer case that the TD5's don't have sot there spare.
They look like the CDL indicator/warning dash light switch connectors. Has yours a CDL?
There is a black/green that runs from the position selector switch back to the BCU black with a color tracer means that it's an earth wire that is switched by an ecu. Black is always an earth. There is a black that runs from the position switch to an earth header, but this is a 800mm run from the position switch. These wires are present on both td5 and v8.
That said there doesn't appear to be anything on the wiring diagrams that corresponds to those two plugs. They might be for diagnostic purposes.
Cheers
Paul
Last weekend while I was redirecting the aircon drains I noticed the same two plugs.
They weren't plugged in and were laying on the gearbox toward the passenger side.
So I think they aren't normally plugged in.
Mine is a 99 Td5 auto.
