How to remove sound insulator at rear of TD5 head?

Anyone carried out this task? I noticed a bolt on the passenger side rear of the head. Seems pretty awkward. I recently replaced the injector loom and now have a slow weep from the rocker cover gasket. It would be nice to get this thing out of the way to make the job simple.

    It's just plain awkward.

Mine was missing when I got the D2, but I refitted when a cheap new one came up on eBay. I took it off again when I had to fix a leaking cam cover gasket.

I could get on to the bolts with a 10mm ring spanner which had a slightly cranked end. I tried with a 1/4" drive ratchet and it was a bit tricky to work in the confined space. The drivers side bolt is lower down the block than the passenger side one.

    cheers

They just prise off, the rubber grommet around the bolt slips through the plastic cover, as it will already be soft from oil ingress

Just prise it off with a decent screwdriver or small prybar, and feed it out and up then place in relevant receptacle...
