    Search for removing the web off the manifold and you can do that to reduce the possibility of it happening again.

    Do all the studs while the manifold is off, and use stainless steel replacements,

    better still go bigger and get 10mm SS studs put in.

    Thats fixes it!

    Broken Exhaust Manifold Stud

    Well I got the order wrong went with an easy out first. stud started to move then locked up and snapped the easy out.

    Not sure why they are called easy outs. Not very easy. and ow in the litt bit of srew I have felt I ah the tip of a 2mm drill bit. Not a happy day.

    Any tips here? I'll post a photo when I get back to the workshop.

    Dave I'm a bit nervous to heat just a section of the head with the heat gun to 200 Deg. cant be good can it.

    How about slowly welding a nut onto the stud???? Tap let it cool tap a gain cool tap again cool sort of thing

    you can sometimes encourage a broken easy out out with lots of lube and a normal impact drill.

    if you have a really good dremel you can drill down beside the easy out and give it some wiggle room. you might also be able to slit the easy out with a fine cutting wheel and then screw it or die grind the easy out out.

    If you have an EDM or arc etecher you can burn the eazy out out along with the leftover of the stud, Ironically if you have one of those you woudlnt have needed this thread

    Thanks Dave we put a little dab of mig weld on the stud and Then a couple dabs on an old nut and that did the job. Thankfully I had an ex army mechanic helping. Another cool trick was 2x 3mm wholes all the way through the stud running into each other Then a flat screw driver on the little rattle gun worked on the other suck one
