Thread: Which EGT gauge and probe?

Craig, I'd recomend the MadMan EMS rather. As it has a range of other features including the vital low coolant sensor alarm! I'm pretty sure when I purchased mine it was in a kit which included the EGR blanking plate already taped for the included sensor probe.

I use the Auber probe with the 90 degree bend, it uses a 1/8 NPT thread. You can just tap and plug the plate for now. Cable ties make a simple gauge mount under the dash somewhere. Their EGT kits are around $100 on ebay. But by all means go for an all-in-one gauge/alarm MadMan unit as suggested.

As twr7cx has recommended, I've just fitted a Madman EMS2 unit into a Mud Pod on my D2. Fantastic bit of kit and relatively easy to install. The service from the supplier Jan (The Entertainer) has has been excellent with very quick postage and email replys.

I spent a bit of time mulling over which gauges/unit to buy and to be honest the EMS 2 does everything that I need and only takes up the space of one gauge slot on my Mud Pod leaving room for the plethora of switches I intend to fit...

For the time being I have mounted my EGT probe in the EGR blanking plate, it is over 100mm long so does go in quite a way. I do intend to fit it in the manifold just before the turbo when I pull the manifold off after I've warped it due to my TRS Chip I'll then get it machined, stainless studs and ceramic coat it...
