1999 TD5 done approx 280,000Kms. Just back from the Simpson Desert (ninth time). Vehicle has been brilliant everywhere from Cape York to the Anne Biddel Highway. Regular maintence. Never uses oil. Planning many more years use.
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food
A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

1999 V8 240,445 klm.
Daily drive and occasional camping. Bought Nov 07 with 178k
Head Gaskets replaced at at 193k. Regularly serviced and bits replaced before they fail (by my best guess) some might call it preventative replacement maintenance, or whatever
Today it's running better than ever, trick to this ones quirks is to use it regularly, any more than a few short days on the driveway and it lets you know its old with rattly starts and sluggish performance.
The poster above from the US notes mileage (mileage!) for v8's that is reported on discoweb. My d2 has 200k and needs head gaskets but I managed to get it hot. The engine inside including cam was magic. Cheap fix and a lot of klms left. My d1 v8) has 280k on it and is very strong.
Cheers
