Detroit Locker Differentials
Yee gods!
Didn't think it looked right.:p
Cheers.
As others have commented I haven't found etc an issue in sand but my experience is pretty much limited to Murray-sunset and wyperfeld np's in Vic. With tyres dropped 30% in low range and cdl locked TC only activated on the really chopped up sections of track. Most of the time I didn't hear a peep out of the etc.
Fair bit of sand in those parks to play in...
Cheers,
Nova
I didn't get TC going on the beach at all on pebbly beach, even at full road psi, CDL unlocked :)
And that was through the soft sections that had been torn up by the ******* in front of us.
TC + CDL wins.
100's of kms of sand tracks ;)
We didn't do anything too hardcore. Mainly medium tracks like the track between pine plains and Wonga campground, Pella Track and nth south settlement track in Murray sunset. No big dunes as we were traveling solo so were a bit careful with the selection.
On most other cars you jack up 1 (or 2 or 3 or 4) wheels and drive for the puposes of checking wheel balance or other problem solving. On my D2 the traction control cut in just above idle and spoils any diagnosing.
I am about to do the SLABS ecu wire cut, but the Slunnie version - ie cut and a switch installed. You get the best of both worlds then and it also ensures, if the switch is pressed to interrupt the circuit with CDL engaged, when shutting of the (pre facelifted D2) vehicle that the 3 amigos dont come on at start up.
