love the "stout cudgel" - been a while since I've seen that one used (still grinning!)

Ouch! Been there. It's a bitch.

Pry bar to lever the passengers window frame out far enough to insert a straightened coat hanger (held with pliers) to press the dash button to unlock the doors. Keys were in ignition, at pos I and spare key was in camera bag on the back floor

If you lock the car using the key remote the dash button to unlock no longer works ... Then you're in trouble.

Carry a spare flat standard shaped key cut to suite the car, along with the EKA, and strap it up under the car somewhere.

schuy1 - I agree and that's the rub: Our dogs are pretty large and only ride in the back behind the barrier; and the car was very much attended - I was packing for a quick trip into town and the dogs weren't even coming.

The newest one (only had him two weeks and the wife's not really on board with it - this didn't help) was buzzing around whilst I was packing the car - I shoo'ed him out of the back so I could put the fridge and other stuff in and he went straight into the front passenger seat, where he doesn't actually fit and bumped the coin tray and lock switch somehow in the 2 seconds he was there before I chased him out of there. I didn't noticed the lock or coin tray and shut the door when he was out to stop him getting back in. I had also shut the back door for the same reason - voila! car locked and all doors shut.

The front passenger door was open because my wife had placed her bag (with spare key for disco) on the passenger seat, just before he came bounding around. Double d'oh!, doors locked and *both* keys inside the car

Fluids - that's on the agenda for today - basic key cut and then use with EKA.

    cheers, bidds

Just a question, I have not tried this on my D2 but most cars if the doors are locked and the door is closed does'nt the door automatically open if closed while locked? Just curious!

Yes but if all the doors are closed and a mutt presses the lock button.... disaster.

Ah, by my experience, that would be no.
