I was not sure whether you were taking the **** with your first post, so I just ignored the potential sarcasm etc. Very hard to read in text.

I think 8 hours is right. When I did mine I removed the bonnet from the car, degreased, let dry a bit. There is a fair bit of window dressing to remove first to get to the rocker cover gaskets. Also fumbled a bit with the bolts in the covers (unusual size). Took my time with surface prep, coil pack was a bit of a pain with regards to unfixing/fixing. Also the plenum didn't want to go back on first time.

As I said earlier it was a very satisfying job. Would happily do another one.

P.S. Removing and reinstating the bolts in the rocker cover was resolved by changing the drive size but kept the same socket size. (?)

• P/Steer pump leak
• Water pump showing signs of leak
• Tapet cover leak

These could all be done at home quite easily in a weekend as the rocker cover gaskets need most of the stuf on top removed and so does the water pump and power steer pump. So to not do them together would cost far more either way. The engine mounts can be done without removing the inlet but needs to be done in the right order. So do these at the same time as well, while you have clearance to lift the engine (a jack is fine, one side at a time).


Hardest part of the pinion seal is retensioning the flange, the rear donut should take about 30min.
