    That's just a bit high.

The switch cost locally is in the order of $700-800 +GST and a couple of hours labour to fit on a Td5. For what it is, its an expensive part.

I just had mine replaced, including a transmission service last month, all up $1200 or so from memory.

    NEWS!

Here i proudly present a very rare new thread to issue of "M+S Flashing"!

problem is now solved. (sorry for being late since i was busy with other ongoing projects)

the cause was not "XYZ Switch" nor "Oil in tranny loom" ...it was TPS ! yess The "Throttle Position Sensor".

since owner mentioned "often misfirings" (and relatively coming downshift clunk) i decided to point my torch on EMS! plugged it to Diagnostic system and yes obviously TPS was the pain-cause.

i detached the part ,and tested sensor by both Analogue/Digital meters . it had a tiny worn point causing tick-over in signal!

changed the part ERR7322 and fixed it forever!

Thanks for your patience and company.

    Cheers

Good work on finding the fault. This vehicle never ceases to amaze me on what problems it can present.

Thanks for the post. I had same problem, removed TPS and cleaned with WD40. Problem solved. Ordered new TPS and will install when received.

    New Genuine UHB100190

I just replaced my XYZ Switch in my new D2a 2004 TD5 HSE. Using a LR Genuine switch supplied by my mechanic at $695 AUD and 1.5 hrs labour so $905.75 all up including doing the a/c drain extensions both sides.

I tried to get the switch out myself, what a job, beyond my capabilities, good result in the end, like new car

Struggling to sort this fault out

Hi all, I have the m & s light issue with the flashing drive light on the shifter. The issue arose during a cold start, car went into limp mode 3rd gear when attempting to drive. So far I have:
    - removed xyz switch, cleaned and refitted.
    - cleaned the oily loom at the head and engine ECU.
    - purchase and fitted a good second hand xyz switch.
Checked engine loom and cleaned Evey connector I can find.
Unfortunately the problems persist and I now realize I'm looking for a needle in a haystack.
I don't have a nanocom, just wondering if anyone in Melbourne northern suburbs has one that I could borrow?

Check the auto ecu doesn't have any wiring issues or chaffing some where along the lines
