In fact I think that the listing is wrong and should only be for D1.
The D2 FPR is incorporated into the fuel pump assembly of the Thor inside the petrol tank and runs on a higher pressure than the D1.
The evaporative emission system is completely separate and will run to a carbon canister under the bonnet and there will be an ECU controlled valve sitting on top...

No, I must disagree, there's DEFINITELY a pressure relief valve in the fuel line between the filler tube and the tank, tucked up in the wheel arch body work.Quote:

BUT it is not the one you were looking at. That is a fuel pressure regulator to regulate the pressure to the injectors to take account of different atmospheric pressure in the inlet manifold in a D1 V8 14CUX.
If there is one there then it is something else. They all have a number of small one way diaphragm valves in the evap circuit but those are different to what you showed.
You are correct in as much as there is a small diaphragm valve in the evap circuit page 17-2-3 of Rave numbered as 9 and this MAY be your problem, but it could be a small leak somewhere else like at a stub of the evap pipe on the tank , or a leak of the pipe AT the valve rather than the valve itself.

I also have this problem in a 2002 v8 and I'm in central Queensland where its very hot so I thought the pressure had to do with expansion, this has started happening in the last week or two to mine and I was freaking out, thanks to those that posted that its been doing it on there's for years, at least I know I'm not going to turn into an explosion down a road somewhere.(well I have my fingers crossed)
Can anyone post a result to this when and if they find one, I have the pressure when I release the cap as well but sometimes the noise only changes when I release the fuel cap pressure, sometimes its still there once released but a different tone and quieter.
Any help appreciated.
