Doesn't bother me
If I had to do it again though....
Only seems to happen when turning to the right...
Sounds almost like something impacting the undercarriage.
As they say "ignorance is bliss".
Have you checked the Watts linkage bushes?
As an outside possibility there was a TB covering creak/knock from the left rear of the chassis resulting from a chassis spacer moving. Description sounds like it could be similar to what you are getting.
cheers
Paul
Not sure if it is that serious. Check the official time allowance for the repair: 30 minutes.
It does seems to be quite similar to the description of your problem, although I'd do a check of the other suspects before taking the drill to the chassis!
There is a similar issue with a loose spacer near where the steering box mounts that results in groans and creaks when moving lock to lock. I often wonder how many of the incurable steering noises are down to that one.
True.
Had a brief look at it, not the easiest place to access.
Couldn't see/feel any evidence of play or wearing on any of the bushes at the rear.
Couldn't replicate the noise by rocking the vehicle, although I did notice some scratches from low hanging tree branches whilst jumping on the rear bumper![]()
