Remind us again - how do you boost performance on the V8? I seem to recall the phrase "engine swap" comes into play early in any discussion. No wonder Pedro is fixated by stock performance!

That is a truly unbelievable upgrade Pedro...
The peak power will not improve much with any upgrade, unless the Rev Limiter is moved up to say 6200 RPM. Although we could do this and the power is still increasing when it hits the Rev Limiter, it would be something of a “smoke and mirrors” improvement.
However the dominant characteristic is actually a huge hole in the torque curve, centred around 3000 RPM. This is filled in very well with the upgrade, delivering an extra 10-15 lb/ft of torque and much faster throttle response
When driving a standard vehicle it actually pulls away from a standing start quite well initially, but loses interest once it gets to 3000 RPM. Personally I find this trait especially annoying, and it doesn’t even sound like a V8 either!
That makes the standard V8 sound really attractive doesn't it?

Yup, that is really worth £545 but I guess it is a bit cheaper than a 4.6L transplant Plus you get to say "It's got a chipped ECU, just like a Td5".

    Lets see....

Offset grind the crank to destroke, bore, longer rods, skirtless pistons, raise comp, 114 ron fuel, larger valves, individual throttle bodies...

    Wait, I've done that.

It's interesting what that article says about a flat spot at 3000 and mine was a little low at that point but after head porting and 2 levels up from stock Crow cam it pulls very hard at 3000 and right across the rev range right through to 5500 and I reckon she is half a second or more faster to 100_ it feels quicker than that but often seat of the pants isn't reflected accurately on the stop watch.

    Cheers
