With figures like that who'd buy a diesel?. Keep that disco mate one out of the box me thinks!

Powerchip and others claim 10-15% improvement in economy on the V8. So 10.9L/100KM would be maximum.

But looking at another way, a stock Td5 Manual can get 7.5L/100km. With rechip, de-egr and big intercooler driven for economy 6L/100KM is achievable.

Ultimately you need to have the car is perfect condition to do this. On mine the Transfer Case is getting a bit growly when cornering and at last oil change there was a bit of metal in the oil which suggests the CDL shims are cactus. I reckon things like that hit economy.

Those gov cyclic tests are not achievable outside a laboratory on a factory vehicle.

Rolling roads don't have wind drag for starters!

Are you saying official government published data may be misleading?

Just did a search for the EEC directives mentioned and it is a set of specific test programs run on a dyno.

Even better, the consumption is calculated from emissions not measured directly.

It didn't create any real problems but I had it all cleaned out and change of cooler (they are very difficult to clean properly), the trans fluid was a pretty horrible colour. Expect about $4,600-$5k btw
Wardy. All I can say is yay for warranty. I have been told it has had a full rebuild and should receive a copy of the receipt next week. And it has cost me nothing $0.00
Mind you it is going back for a top up of trans-fluid on monday. As when it sits for an hour or so. I want go into drive or reverse straight away. Once it does engage it drives normal. And the selector is stiff or the cable needs some lube as its abit tight.

Thanks Offtrackl sorry for delay in reply. I am thinking of doing away with the drawers as I carry too much stuff with me all the time. Trouble is I cut my barrier down to suit it so will have to figure something with that.
I'm thinking of going the way Alien has with just a low shelf.
