Headlining Material Availability

I was thinking about adding some insulation to the roof while the headlining was out. Do you find it makes much difference to the heat transmission?

The other thing on the to-do list is to replace the gaskets under the roof bars. These are starting to look a bit sad and the UK forums have reports of issues with them leaking.

To soon to tell, but theoretically speaking it should, I just like the solid sound it gives the doors and roof, and the reduction in road noise.

Following up on availability, after speaking to a National fabric manufacturer I was directed to Daleys Motor Trimmers in Fawkner, they are able to supply headlining material @ $22.65/m + GST in any length.
I will visit shortly to view range & purchase reqirements.

Daley's - About Us

Went to my local auto trimmer, they also recommend Daleys but a new product "Montana Felt" roof lining comes 2.0mtrs width in 5 shades. Not foam backed but thick. Foam will only fail again they claim! $38/linear mtr:) (its not on their website yet)

Picked up the headling material today from Daley's, 2.6m off 1600mm (63") wide material, Thin Neutral Gray Headlining (XCA05TN).
I was advised to be certain to use an adhesive suitable for a hot environment.

Collins, I was advised to use Selley's Kwik Grip spray can by the motor trimmers I bought my material from, as it is low in something-or-other that meant it wasn't going to kill you while you drove.

The guy that I dealt with was immensely helpful, offering me some hints and tips, and his number to call if I got stuck (no pun intended!)

I can vouch for the lining sagging again soon after replacement with the foam material. The Disco has deep recesses that don't help the prospects of long-term adhesion in Aus. I sold that truck, but the next time, I used a heavy duty marine fabric with no foam backing. Looks okay once you're over the shock of a non-showroom finish. It's there to stay forever and shrugs dirt and scuffs like a champ. Maybe Landrover should use marine carpeting and headlining from new...?
