part of the rubbing strips! Whatever next? hard to believe some things :( I reckon the worst would be getting more and wondering if they were your own!!! As Sharkee says what goes around comes around!
I would love to catch them doin that, wether it was my truck or any one else's car or truck their fingers would meet my hammer
It is a quote from someone else but.....
"I don't want to be the sole source of this blokes retirement fund"
Translation.....If some of these secondhand parts dealers didn't charge so exhorbitantly for parts of a car that is over ten years old, then maybe people wouldn't be driven to steal.
Example. A part that I needed for my D2 was quoted at a price of $$300.00 for a 10 year old used part.
The current list price of the genuine article was about $400.00
How the hell can these second hand dealers justify trying to sell a 10 year old secondhand part for 75% of the current new list price??? WTF!!!!!
I don't condone or partake in the actions of a thief, but I can understand the desperation of some people even if their actions are unacceptable.
Cheers,
Jason
Disgraceful behaviour
I tell you what, if I ever caught someone defacing mine like that they'd find out exactly how good a job I'd done sharpening my Ghurka knife :censored::bat:
Hope you manage to catch the bastards, best of luck with it mate.
Cheers

Someone once stole the glass out of the drivers mirror on the Mrs's Santa Fe, but they destroyed the plastic housing to get to it. Luckily they unplugged the heated mirror plug instead of cutting the wiring.
Theres some desperate people out there.
Here's the update: The car was parked in view of the security camera but the thief wasn't as stupid as I was hoping.
The cameras panned from side to side with the disco going out of view each time. That's when the damage was done..out of view.
We were thankful that they actually watched the tapes but whats the point of these camera's.
Time to focus on the repair now and I have a question for you all that I would appreciate some help with. Any advice on what to fill in the scratches with that have exposed bare metal? They should mostly be covered up by new rubbing strips but would like to cover the bare metal anyway. I was thinking a touch up pen/paint in the same paint code? Any prep work I should do prior to touch up?
Cheers.

On the bright side, that bare metal is aluminium on those panels so at least it wont rust :)
