Translation.....If some of these secondhand parts dealers didn't charge so exhorbitantly for parts of a car that is over ten years old, then maybe people wouldn't be driven to steal.
Example. A part that I needed for my D2 was quoted at a price of $$300.00 for a 10 year old used part.
The current list price of the genuine article was about $400.00
How the hell can these second hand dealers justify trying to sell a 10 year old secondhand part for 75% of the current new list price??? WTF!!!!!
I don't condone or partake in the actions of a thief, but I can understand the desperation of some people even if their actions are unacceptable.

Someone once stole the glass out of the drivers mirror on the Mrs's Santa Fe, but they destroyed the plastic housing to get to it. Luckily they unplugged the heated mirror plug instead of cutting the wiring.
Theres some desperate people out there.

They should mostly be covered up by new rubbing strips but would like to cover the bare metal anyway. I was thinking a touch up pen/paint in the same paint code? On the bright side, that bare metal is aluminium on those panels so at least it wont rust :)
