Just to finalise this thread........

The Motor was rebuilt with new bearings, crankshaft, rods, gaskets etc.

Car now making its way back to Queensland.

Total cost of job: $6500.00 (rounded). Previous owner put in $1500.00 towards the cost of the repair, which was much appreciated as he was under no obligation to do that.
