Whether the later shaft will solve the vibration issues is a matter of debate. I suspect that in a vehicle which was in factory condition it would make a difference. But once you are into 100K+ km other wear is going to be the problem. I seem to recall a member here recently posting that after rebuilding the engine, transfer case and auto the vibrations had pretty much gone. That suggests to me that it's the cumulative effect of wear of the whole system, rather than a single component. It would be nice to pin point the biggest contributors, but as the "Ultimate Solution" threads 400-500 posts indicates that is a bit of a pipe dream.
From the pics I've seen the ball bearing sliding joint is going to be the last thing to wear on the shaft.
